I started Paint with a Pointe to combine my passions for art and dance. Pointe shoes are one of the most recognizable symbols of ballet, but have a limited shelf life. Even if they’ve never been worn, the glue and natural materials inside can break down over time, making them unsafe to dance in.​ I source these unworn shoes and transform them into painted works of art. The finished pieces are sold to raise funds for local dance nonprofit organizations, giving new life and purpose to materials that would otherwise go to waste.
